What do you do when life feels like it is falling apart?
In Week 2 of our On Repeat: Summer in the Psalms series, Pastor Curtis Gudrie explores Psalm 46 and the hope it offers when our circumstances feel unstable, overwhelming, or out of control.
Fear often grows when our circumstances seem bigger than our God. In difficult seasons, we naturally search for a safe place, the strength to keep going, and someone who can help. Psalm 46 reminds us that God provides all three: He is our refuge, our strength, and our ever-present help in times of trouble.
Our circumstances may not always be stable, but God always is. He does not simply send help from a distance—He comes near and is present with us in the middle of the chaos.
When Scripture tells us to “be still and know” that He is God, it is more than an invitation to be quiet. It is a call to stop striving, let go of control, cease fighting, and surrender to the One who is still on the throne.
Difficult circumstances do not erase the presence of God. His presence gives us the strength to walk through them.
When life feels like it is falling apart:
• Pause
• Pray
• Trust
No matter what is happening around you, you do not have to live in fear. Peace comes from knowing who God is.
